International Foundation For Aviation And Development (IFFAAD), Canada
was founded as a non-profit organization in 2005, and IFFAAD is incorporated under the Canada Corporation Act as a 'not-for-profit' entity. IFFAAD has its seat in Montreal, the host city of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Montreal has also been the world capital of aviation for more than fifty years.
The initiative for the Foundation originated from Dr. Sanat Kaul, the then Representative of India to the Council of ICAO who became the first Chairman and is currently heading the India Chapter in New Delhi. IFFAAD is proud to have had the Late and LegendaryDr. Assad Kotaite, former President of the ICAO Council, as its Governor Emeritus and Dr. Charles Bédard a former Permanent representative of Canada to ICAO as its co-founder.
In 2007 another Independent not for profit society was registered in India also called International Foundation for Aviation and Development (IFFAAD).
International Foundation For Aviation, Aerospace and Drones
While International Foundation for Aviation and Development (IFFAAD) was incorporated in India in 2007 (India Chapter), under the Societies Registration Act, 1870 (regd.no. S/58637/2007). Its scope was enlarged to include 'Aerospace in 14/05/2010 and Drones on 01/03/2019 therefore the present name of the society is International Foundation for Aviation, Aerospace and Drones and its acronym remains IFFAAD.
Thus today the Foundation is called the International Foundation for Aviation, Aerospace & Drones . The amendment was granted permission by the Registrar of Societies, Delhi on 01.03.2019
IFFAAD is proud to have Mr. S.K.Mishra, IAS (retd.), a former Secretary to Prime Minister, and Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Government of India as its Patron and Dr.Sanat Kaul , former Representative of India to ICAO, as its founding member and present Chairman.
